International Continuing Medical Education (CME)
for Medical Professionals
MedSpanish gives medical professionals the opportunity to obtain CME credits in a Spanish Immersion context. Our program is co-sponsored by the University of New Mexico, the Health Ministry, and the Pan American Collaborative Emergency Medicine Development Program (PACEMD Program).
In addition to top-level clinical experience, we offer stand-alone CME Credit as an option for those who simply want to take classes with no clinical time.
Accreditation
Medical professionals earn credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the program.
The Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category One Credits.
The CME accreditation course is tax-deductible.
Clinical options
Our Clinical Option provides a hands-on experiential learning approach to Medical Spanish. Participants become familiar with standard Health Ministry practices, Mexican pharmaceuticals, and interpretations of common diagnostics tests used in Mexico.
All planned activities are implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
